Richard James Nester

Richard Nester, long time Portage Lakes resident, went home to our Lord on Saturday July 9, 2022. Richard was born on November 12, 1934 in Akron. He was a graduate of Garfield High School and a retired Akron Fireman and M&B Radiator employee. Richard loved watching the people and boats on the Lakes. He was preceded in death by Father Oral Nester, Mother Rosina (nee Clark) Nester and Sister Doris Sprague. He is survived by his loving family Peggy (nee Bartlett) Easterday , Pam Heaton, Traci (Mark) Bickle, Robert (Diane) Easterday, Garrison Easterday, and several Grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 6 p.m. at House of Eberhardt Funeral Home, 472 W. Turkeyfoot Lk Rd. (Rt. 619) Portage Lakes with Pastor Jack Irvin Sr. officiating.  Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.  Funeral committal service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 at 1 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron.
