John F. “Jack” Miller, 81, of Akron, Ohio passed away on January 27, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Miller (nee Seese), sister, Beth Anne Bennett, daughter, Jennifer Hines, son, James (Michele) Miller, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Isabelle (nee Caddes) Miller, brother, Michael Miller and son, John Scott Miller.
Jack was a lifelong resident of Manchester. He graduated from Manchester High School and was a U S Army veteran.
He retired from United Parcel Service after many years. He was known locally to many as the UPS man. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Manchester football. He also coached youth basketball for many years. Jack was a collector and member of several model train and John Deere clubs. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 1 at 11 a.m. at House of Eberhardt Funeral Home, 472 W. Turkeyfoot Lk Rd. (Rt. 619) Portage Lakes. Family and friends will be received Sunday, January 31 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, at the funeral home. Visitors to the funeral home will be required to wear face masks and practice social distancing due to Covid pandemic. Final resting place will be Manchester Cemetery in New Franklin. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
