Duncan C Tanner III

Duncan C. Tanner III passed May 15.  He was 34 years old, and is survived by mother, Sandra L. Tanner, father Duncan C. Tanner Jr., grandmother Joanne Robbins, brothers Ian R. Tanner and Tyler Tanner, sister-in-law Jackie Crooks Tanner, nephew Robert William Tanner and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A lifelong Akron resident, Duncan was a CPA with an undergraduate degree and MBA from the University of Akron.  With partner and close friend Tom Gill, he co-founded Tanner – Gill & Associates, an accounting firm based in Cuyahoga Falls.  From a handful clients and a few investors willing to take a chance on two kids with a dream and the courage to make it happen, Duncan and Tom built a multi-million-dollar practice serving over 300 clients.  He loved lifting weights, serving clients, Surf & Turf and Cleveland’s Marble Room.

Smart, bold, physical, stubborn, loyal and a real piece of work, Duncan left this world too soon and will be missed.  

Family and friends will be received 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 20 at House of Eberhardt Funeral Home, 472 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619 Portage Lakes), New Franklin, OH 44319 with a funeral service service at 7 p.m.  No flowers, please.
