Duane Sanders, 86, passed away peacefully at his home July 22 surrounded by his loving family.
Preceded in death by his son-in-law Berry Burke, leaving to cherish his memory are his loving wife Barbara, daughters, Sandra Burke, Cheryl (Bill) May, and Michele (John) Ciocca; grandchildren, Brandon (Christy) Burke, Stacey (Brian) Dooley, Nathan Burke, William (Katie) May, Chelsea May, Lauren (Joshua) Gardner, Leann, Alex, Angela, and Zachary Ciocca; great grandchildren Lexi, Hannah, Mason, Reagan, Lincoln, Harrison, and Ethan. Brother, Gene (Eileen) Sanders and sister, Marilyn (Bernie) Mong, sister-in-law, Bernadine (Bob) Bell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Duane was born in Barberton, Ohio where he was a life resident with his wife of 66 years. Duane retired from Lockheed Martin after 34 years of service.
Duane, a man of great faith, was a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish. He was a generous man who was always willing to help and lived his life to the fullest. He was a role model to his children and grandchildren, passing on his faith and work ethic. He will be remembered for his kindness to everyone and great sense of humor. His favorite times were those spent with family.
Memorials, if so desired, may be made to St Francis de Sales Parish.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Coventry Twp. Entombment committal immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 27 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at House of Eberhardt Funeral Home, 472 W. Turkeyfoot Lk. Rd. (Rt. 619) Portage Lakes.
