Robert “Bob” Buehrle passed away on January 19, 2018 at the age of 90. Bob was born in Akron and lived in New Franklin. He was a US Navy veteran who served on the destroyer, USS Power during WWII.
Bob loved his Catholic faith and was an usher for many years at St Francis de Sales Church and volunteered cleaning the church. Bob was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the co-owner for over 50 years at Al’s Quality Meats in Barberton, with his brother-in-law, Al, and his brother, Dick. Bob was proud of having his own business. He enjoyed bowling and golf and enjoyed competing with his sons into his 80’s. Bob had a keen sense of humor. He was a wise old soul who will be deeply missed.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife of over 68 years, Irene. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Buehrle, and his son, Thomas. Bob is survived by his wife Irene, sister Rosmarie Housteau, sister Eloise Aberth, and brother James “Dick” Buehrle and his wife Mary Frances. Bob and Irene had 9 children, 22 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. He is survived by children Roberta Buehrle, Karen Merz, Dee (Bob) Callen, Jim (Judy) Buehrle, Ken (Pam) Buehrle, Elaine (Rod) Kalbus, Robert (Mary) Buehrle, Ralph (Barbara) Buehrle and daughter-in-law Kathy (Dave) Neal.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 9:00 to 10:00 in the morning at St. Francis de Sales Church, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron, Ohio 44319, followed by a Mass of the Christian burial. Inurnment to follow at Holy Cross cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Church.
