Anna "Jeanie" Smith Obituary

Anna “Jeanie” Smith, 84, passed away September 5, 2017 at Stow Glen Retirement Village.  She was born in Akron, Ohio to Thomas M. and Anna L. (nee Crawford) Buchanan and has resided in this area her entire life.  She was very well known for making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls and giving them away as gifts.  She reached a donor milestone with the Red Cross for the amount of blood she has donated over the years. She enjoyed reading, crafts, canning and baking and it was a huge treat to be the recipient of a peck basket full of homemade jellies, canned fruits and baked products.  She was involved with the Senior Employment Program working at Edwin Shaw and St. John the Baptist Church in the adult day care.

She is preceded in death by husband, James, brother, Thomas and sister, Neva Tate.  She is survived by loving daughter and son-in-law, Jacque and James Hofer.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at House of Eberhardt Funeral Home, 472 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619) Portage Lakes.  Family and friends will be received Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
